A feature name is the start of a question. To understand a bonus round, read what triggers it, which rules change, how awards are calculated and what ends the round.
Four common terms, four checks
These are general reading definitions, not a claim that every game includes them or implements them identically. Pragmatic Play’s catalogue provides named examples of tumble and multiplier descriptions; full game rules are still needed for the details.
| Term | Typical idea | Check the actual rules |
|---|---|---|
| Free spins | Additional spins awarded by a feature | Stake basis, count and retrigger conditions |
| Wild | A symbol that may substitute | Which symbols or combinations are excluded? |
| Multiplier | A factor applied to an award | Which award, and does the factor persist? |
| Cascade / tumble | Symbols are replaced in a sequence | Removal conditions and when the sequence stops |
Trace the beginning, middle and end
First identify the trigger: a symbol condition, an event or another condition described in the game. Then look for a separate feature paytable or changed symbol behaviour. Finally, check the exit condition and whether a retrigger adds rounds or resets a counter.
Hypothetical example: a feature awards five extra spins, and a stated event adds two more. That does not prove multipliers carry forward, or that the extra spins use different odds. Each extra assumption needs its own rule.
A game feature is different from a promotion
A built-in free-spin round belongs to the game mechanics. An operator’s promotional offer may instead have expiry, eligibility or other terms. The same everyday phrase can therefore describe different things.
Do not combine a supplier’s feature description with an operator offer and treat them as one rule set. This site provides neither promotional offers nor deposit links.
More activity does not establish more value
A feature can change the distribution of outcomes without making a positive result certain. Its relationship to RTP depends on the documented model and configuration. Leave that relationship unknown when the published information does not explain it.
- Check the cost and stake basis before comparing awards.
- Identify whether any separately offered feature has an additional cost.
- Do not infer expected return from the length of an animation or the size of a possible multiplier.
Questions, answered
Does “free spins” always mean a no-cost offer?
No. It can describe a built-in feature awarded during a paid game or a separate promotional offer. The source and terms determine its meaning.
Is a multiplier applied to every award?
Not necessarily. The rules must specify its scope, duration and any exclusions.
